Architecture & Construction
Mornington Terrace
Mornington Terrace on Upper Duke Street, opposite the Anglican Cathedral is a Grade II listed building. Unfortunately I don't know much more about it than that. It is in a similar style to the rest of the Georgian architecture in the area, but it is a little bit more stolid and robustly designed. It is set back from the street, standing proudly as an individual building amongst the terraced conformity... As a piece of architecture it isn't really talked about much, however the thing that always stood out about it to me (I used to get the bus past here every morning to university) was the brass lettering to it's facade.
I've talked about lighting with the other photos I have of this tour of the area around the cathedral (a free taster with Colin's Photography), and it is well illustrated here. The warm light bathing the facade but when it hits the metal it is reflected and stands out that bit more.
